Cork Mosaics

Choosing the right tile to fit your style and installation needs can be difficult. Outside of visual cues most tile does not vary in performance and benefit. However, when looking, cork is another option that adds not only a fun look but many advantages over traditional materials of porcelain or ceramic. Yes, cork; a natural, green product that can be used in many applications!

Actual cork slices are taken and  set on a mesh mosaic, grouted, and sealed to provide a water tight surface. The installation is very similar to that of tile. However, instead of a cold surface you have an insulator that will keep your floor at 70 degrees year round. The benefits of using a natural product such as cork are endless. It is a renewable resource making it green, it has naturally anti-allergenic, the cork is softer than tile to give a little cushion without flexing, and it provides sound deadening. If the natural finish is not your taste you can stain it to suit your needs.

Pamper Yourself In A Romantic Bath

There are many elements you can integrate into creating a romantic bathroom.  A romantic bath should make you feel special in every way.  From the moment you step onto the heated floor to the warmth of the water coming from the rain head in the shower to the long soak in the extra deep soaking tub. Hand help shower arms at the bathtub rim are also an added plus.

Romance can be created by the addition special details in the space itself or by adding accessories such as candles, soft window treatments, chairs, special towel holders, fresh flowers, dimmable lighting, special mirrors, beautiful rugs, fine art and all of the necessary functional amenities at your finger tips.

Use a sleek space as your back drop to create many romantic scenes.  Add red towels, soft window treatments, new and different fluffy rugs in unique colors by occasion or great spa scents accessible to the soaking tub.  You could also change the art on the art walls by occasion.  Let your imagination go wild in creating your romantic environment.

Have some fun creating your romantic bath and call us to implement your creation!

Favorites: Oceanside Glass Tile

How enjoyable it has been to share some of my favorite things with you! Oceanside glass tile has twenty-nine colors, with three finish options; glossy, iridescent and matte. Along with liner bars and accents in any color and/or finish. Pick a blend they have created, or create your own. You are sure to find what you are looking for! My favorite is the Geologie and their newest series Harmonia, in which glass meets stone. Words don’t justify Oceanside’s beauty, but pictures sure help! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

Here are just a few up close examples of colors, sizes, decos and trims available. These are Oceanside’s newest additions! Harmonia is their newest series for the 2011 year, mixing travertine with some of their finest glass colors. These are just a few of many options available in this new line. I can’t wait to use these in someone’s home!

These next nine different mosaics are the shapes and sizes available in the Tessera series. Once again all sizes are available in any of their twenty-nine colors and three finishes!

Geologie is a series I introduced you to in a previous post, where slate meets glass in wonderful colors, shapes and sizes!
I mentioned decos and trim at the beginning, so here are a few just as a little teaser.
