Take a Seat, Let’s Talk About Chairs.

Let’s talk about mixing & matching chairs.

The black color unifies the eclectic collection of chair styles.

Office chairs in a residential setting: delightfully unexpected!

The blue wall color shows up in most of the chair seats, leaving tons of room to play with frame styles.

Mixing & matching chairs can accomplish so much in a space. Have fun with color, play with size and shape, juxtapose styles. Can’t afford six Eames chairs? Just buy one!

Pamper Yourself In A Romantic Bath

There are many elements you can integrate into creating a romantic bathroom.  A romantic bath should make you feel special in every way.  From the moment you step onto the heated floor to the warmth of the water coming from the rain head in the shower to the long soak in the extra deep soaking tub. Hand help shower arms at the bathtub rim are also an added plus.

Romance can be created by the addition special details in the space itself or by adding accessories such as candles, soft window treatments, chairs, special towel holders, fresh flowers, dimmable lighting, special mirrors, beautiful rugs, fine art and all of the necessary functional amenities at your finger tips.

Use a sleek space as your back drop to create many romantic scenes.  Add red towels, soft window treatments, new and different fluffy rugs in unique colors by occasion or great spa scents accessible to the soaking tub.  You could also change the art on the art walls by occasion.  Let your imagination go wild in creating your romantic environment.

Have some fun creating your romantic bath and call us to implement your creation!

Color Forecast 2011: "Bold Invention" Color Scheme

Concluding our color series…

Images Courtesy Walt Disney Pictures and 20th Century Fox.

Inspired by the bold, digitally enhanced hues we’ve seen in such popular media as Alice in Wonderland and Avatar, this palette is for the fearless colorist.  This palette draws from global influences, such as the Cynical Realism art movement of Urban China and the carnaval spirit of Rio de Janeiro.  It also takes cues from rebellious grafitti and digitally enhanced technology.  This palette celebrates shaking off what feels safe and familiar in favor of a bolder, more avant-garde scheme.

Our showroom’s modestly sized convenience kitchen has been redesigned in the Bold Invention palette and combines the bold colors of Sherwin Williams’ final forecasted palette.  Open shelving offers a clean, contemporary space to display shiny white ceramic against an active, multi colored glass subway tile splash.  High gloss, painted gray base cabinets with white laquer counter tops, stainless appliances and Platino Metalwood tile floors offer a neutral, welcome relief to this otherwise color saturated palette.  Unique materials made by 3-form bring new dimension to the space, with a polyester textile ceiling treatment in Green Apple and island panels reminicent of graffiti.  Brightly colored mid century Panton stacking chairs look decidedly modern against a chrome and glass table.  Flexible seating is offered by the bright mustard ottomans beneath the naked window.

Finishes Featuring: 3-form Parametre Hexa in Apple Green, Metalwood Tile in Platino, Eheart Essentials Leightonwood Cabinetry in Deep Caviar on Maple (Square Raised Panel with 3.5″ stile and rail), Glass Reflections subway tile in GR03, GR05, GR06, GR14, GR16, Hanstone Aurora Snow solid surface, 3 form Eco Resin VAria Connection in Passion, Julien Glassic 0201 Stainless Sink with integrated faucet.  Range by Richmond Stoves 1100 DFT Duel Fuel Range in Sushi.  Successi Cabinet Hardware in High Gloss White by Atlas Homewares

Furniture and Accessories Featuring: Panton Stacking Chairs, Flower Table by Global Views, Trapunto Ottoman in Mustard, 9002 Stratosphere Chandelier by Currey and Company, Pop Art Mirror in Blue, Orange, Yellow, and Red by Global Views.

Biscuit

In honor of Missy’s favorite color, let’s finish off our color series with a couple of whites not to be lived without.  Afterall, for a designer “white” is a color with innumerable options.
“Biscuit” by Sherwin Williams (#6112)
This almost-white is so rich and warm and can accept just about any color as a complement, but would look stunning with butterscotch or cognac.

Yam

This week, our daily color selections will have names that remind you of your Thanksgiving feast this Thursday.  Don’t be fooled, though, they’re great colors–not just perfect names!
“Yam” by Sherwin Williams (#6643)
We’ll start out bold with this rich, just enough red, orange.  Though bold, I think this color could look decidedly sophisticated against espresso or ivory furniture.  Try it on a single wall.  Why not?!

Color Forecast 2011: "Purely Refined" Color Scheme

Continuing our color forecast series from last week and the week before

Redefining luxury to reveal it’s pedigree through clean, classic lines, exquisite tailoring, and handcrafted heirloom quality, the Purely Refined palette proves that pared down is the new upscale.  Understated neutrals, layering, organic textures, and subtle detailing add to the natural elegance of this timeless look.

Our showroom’s modestly sized convenience kitchen has been redesigned in the Purely Refined palette. Handcrafted Leightonwood cabinets in a rich sage finish with a mocha glaze anchor the space with a splash of color that isn’t loud or pushy.  An island finished in deep gray tones down the colors of the room. Rustic hickory floors in a soft navy finish are an unexpected yet tasteful choice for flooring.  A handmade pedestal table with a multi-step glazing process and a driftwood bunching chest polish the room’s furnishings and offer texture.  The finishes are laid out in the showroom–come check it out this week!

Finishes Featuring: Floorcraft Hickory in Carbine Bolero, Cabinetry by Eheart Essentials in Leightonwood Sage Green and Deep Caviar with Chocolate Glaze on Maple, Crossville Savoy Subway Tile in Sea Mist, Interceramic Glow Accent Tile, Countertops in Concrete Bespoke color 607 by Sonoma Cast Stone Company.

Macadamia

“Macadamia” by Sherwin Williams (#6142)
Quite possibly the most uncommitted neutral I’ve ever put on a wall, this color offers just enough color to know it’s there, without committing your palette to warm or cool tones.  If you’re not sure what look you’re going for yet, but want to get the walls cozied up, this is your overall neutral.
